Intermediate Championship

Castlemartyr 1-17 Ballinhassig 1-20

Two heavyweights in this year’s PIHC came face to face on Sunday last in a repeat of their championship encounter in Cobh last year.
Unfortunately we just came out on the wrong end of a very tight hour…with Watergrasshill and Kilworth ending all square in the other group game.

Next Up – Kilworth

After that clash in Ballygarvan, next up is a trip to Lisgoold on this Sunday for a meeting with Kilworth in our second premier intermediate championship game of the season. There is a 4pm throw in and don’t forget admission is by ticket only, which must be purchased online in advance.
Last season Kilworth inflicted a very rare defeat on us when the sides met in our second game in Ballynoe – here’s hoping we can reverse the balance come Sunday afternoon. Best of luck to the team.

Junior Championship

Our junior hurlers continued their build up to their championship opener with two very worthwhile challenge games over the past few weeks. The game against St Catherine’s is listed to be played in Killeagh on this Friday August 11th – 7.30pm. The other group C team Sarsfield’s have a bye this weekend.

Golf Classic

As we round up all matters dealing with this year’s golf classic – we ask that all remaining payments for teams and tee boxes be collected this week. Thanks to all who contributed in any way and please complete the project by chasing up any outstanding monies.

Centenary Committee

Work continues in the build up to our Centenary year 2024. The special sub committee continues to make progress with a number of projects. It’s an exciting time all around as work is also due to commence on the new all weather floodlit training area in September. So plenty to look forward to over the months ahead.

Lisgoold v Youghal

Thanks to all who helped out in any way with the hosting of last Friday’s county intermediate match between Youghal and Lisgoold which saw the seasiders battle back to produce a strong finish and earn a merited share of the points. Apart from our big match on Sunday there are plenty of other attractive games taking place locally across the weekend.

Lotto News

Ahead of this week’s lotto draw the jackpot is now standing at €12,550. Winners of €25 last week were Teresa Moran, Rachel English, Teresa Moore, Clare Crowley and Imedla O’Riordan.
