Castlemartyr GAA Golf Classic 2022

Countdown Underway To Castlemartyr GAA Golf Classic

It’s that time of the year again when the countdown is underway to the Castlemartyr GAA Golf Classic, which will take place on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th of August at Castlemartyr Resort Golf Club.

Presently Castlemartyr GAA Club are in the midst of a major club development plan and proceeds from the Golf Classic will go directly towards further enhancing the facilities at Paddy Walsh Memorial Park.

After the completion of the community walkway in phase 1 along with new lighting, new perimeter fencing, enlarged car parking area, improved toilet facilities and the embracing of the biodiversity scheme, attention is now turning to the construction of a state of the art All Weather floodlit pitch, which will be situated adjacent to the current ball alley.

Work is expected to begin on this project in early autumn, with a completion date targeted for early in 2023. Fundraising is obviously high on the priority list of club officers and thus the forthcoming Golf Classic takes on even greater significance than previous years.

Teams of 3 and tee box sponsorship is one way of playing your part in helping the club in it’s current initiative, which is all building up towards the celebration of the club’s Centenary year of 2024. The organisers are delighted to have Amarenco and Army Surplus Warehouse on board as main sponsors, with Glenbio Ltd involved as associate sponsors.

Please contact Mike Falahee, Christy O’Sullivan, Bernard Lawton or John Cashman or any member of the committee locally if you wish to enter a team or sponsor a tee box.

The tee box is reserved from 12 noon to 5pm on both Thursday August 11th and Friday August 12th – the competition takes the form of a 3 ball batter ball, with one score to count on each hole, except on par 3’s where two scores will count.
